UPC broadcasts 90 programmes DAB+Cable on the cable network, receivable with “Sumatronic DAB+Cable Adapter

The largest Swiss cable network operator UPC broadcasts 90 radio programmes via DAB+Cable on all its networks in Switzerland. This means that the often scarce DAB+ reception indoors can be switched to cable without interference.

For technical reasons, however, UPC does not transmit the DAB+ signals on the usual DAB+ channels, but on the frequency blocks 16C-17B. Normal receivers cannot receive these frequency blocks. In addition to special receivers for DAB+Cable, with the sumaDAB+Cable adapter developed by Sumatronic AG, normal DAB devices can now also receive this signal via the antenna connection. The signals are converted into receiver-standard frequency ranges. This means that existing DAB devices can be used and the customer is no longer restricted in his choice of music system. The adapter can be obtained from many specialist shops, Internet dealers or directly from Sumatronic. (Digitec, Galaxus, Mediamarkt, Matsmobile, Microspot, Interdiscount or UPC).
