Sumatronic DAB+ system on board Lake Geneva

Between Evian (F) and Lausanne (CH), the first of two passenger ships “Naviexpress” will in future carry up to 700 passengers.

The new ship was designed and built by the innovative shipyard Shiptec AG in Central Switzerland for the operator CGN SA. Modern ships have a variety of radio systems, including a very powerful radar, which is very important for safety. These diverse systems, together in a confined space, make reliable DAB+ reception, which is used not only for radio but also for traffic data, difficult. Sumatronic has designed a solution – based on the repeater systems – which ensures reception despite these difficulties.
