DAB+ reception in the Neustadtplatz parking garage in the city of Zug
The first parking garage in the canton of Zug was equipped with DAB+ last year.
With a Sumatronic HPRI DAB+ repeater and several transmitting antennas, specially developed by us for applications in underground parking garages, the two parking garage levels were well covered.
Reception conditions on site were complicated by the indoor installation location of the receiving antenna and a mobile phone transceiver in the immediate vicinity. Processing with a reception filter and signal amplification directly at the antenna was necessary.

Operators greatly appreciate this upgrade, as the system is an excellent addition to existing services and offers additional convenience to motorists.
DAB+ reception is now also relevant for safety, as all emergency messages from the authorities to the population are primarily transmitted via DAB+.
DAB+ radio therefore not only provides information, entertainment, and convenience, but also safety. Over 80% of the population in 93% of households listen to the radio every day. DAB+ has now largely replaced FM radio reception. There are well over 7 million DAB+ devices in Switzerland (over 150 million worldwide).
